At 12 noon on January 15, 2016, the "Closing Art Celebration of the Year of Cultural Exchange between China and the UK" was held in Potters Fields Park, London. A group of large-scale public art inflatable installations - "Rong" made a wonderful appearance! Invited outstanding artists from both countries participated in the on-site creation and disseminated it through global media to show the world the artistic achievements of Sino-British cultural exchanges.
This large-scale inflatable device was designed by artist Xiao Ge and completed by the AERO inflatable model team. The work is 6 meters high, 18.5 meters long and 18.5 meters wide, and covers an area of about 7 cubic meters. It is composed of inflatable Chinese teapots and British teapots, and is sewn with more than 1,000 pieces of printed Oxford cloth. The two pots face each other and their spouts are connected, as if building a bridge connecting and integrating each other, symbolizing the bond of cultural exchange between the two countries.
In the evening, the public art inflatable installation "Double Teapot" became even more eye-catching. Its difference from the previous one is not entirely due to the visual effects created by the lights and surface graffiti. The most important thing is because of the "integration" of this public art project. It conveys and encourages an attitude of cultural tolerance and symbiosis. Next to Tower Bridge on the banks of the Thames River in London, the public relations art work - "Integration", with the form and appearance of contemporary art, brought a perfect end to the first "China-UK Cultural Exchange Year" full of creativity in 2015.
